On August 4, 2020, there was a catastrophic explosion in Lebanon. Over 200 people died, over 6000 people were injured, 300,000 people were left homeless, 4 major hospitals were destroyed and another 55 medical centers were destroyed or affected by the explosion. Therefore, the medical health care system in the country has been seriously damaged.
Due to the devastating bomb, covid19 and the economic collapse in the country, Lebanon is currently in urgent need of medicines and medical supplies. There is a shortage of several medicines in several medical areas.
SLMA is therefore now working together with ILMA to procure medical donations to help the population as the pharmacies have found it difficult to purchase the medicines.
